DESCRIPTION:I’d like to thank Shona Pollock for filming me saying a few words at St Mark’s Church in Beckton\, where The People’s Emergency Briefing film was being shown. You can see Shona at the beginning of the video. \nIn the video I invite people to attend the CEC Wednesday Webinars and to visit the Newham Mosaic website. We’ve recently added an Events Calendar\, and I’ll be posting details of upcoming Wednesday Webinars there. \nThis is my first post on the Mosaic Events Calendar. \nThink of DREAMS After Dark\, at 10:00 pm on Fridays\, as a late-night show where there is no audience—only participants. That’s us: listening to one another and building community through dialogue. DREAMS is an acronym for Dialogue\, Reflection\, Ethics\, Awareness\, Meditation\, and Storytelling. \nOne of the things I valued most about The People’s Emergency Briefing was that it brought people together. That’s what we need. \n\n“If you wait for governments\, it will be too late.\nIf we act as individuals\, it will be too little.\nIf we act as communities\, it might just be enough.” \n\nThis quotation from Ben Brangwyn appeared on the screen after the screening. I think it captures something important. We need community. We need to make the effort to build it and to make it strong enough to bring about profound change. \nHow do we begin? I think we start with dialogue.
