The first Diaspora Dreaming Arts Workshop was led by Annie Smol on Saturday 2nd December. The workshop held at Memorial Community Church was aimed at parents and children and was inspired by the work of African American artist Faith Ringgold. Annie introduced participants to Faith Ringgold’s work through books that the artist had written before going on to distribute black and white card and pastels for the group to create images based on Ringgold’s ‘#19 US Postage Stamp’ painting.
