Drumming and Networking with Tom Morley

“How do you get 150 delegates from 50 territories to sing in harmony in half an hour? Ask Tom Morley, team building extraordinaire. He flew in to Helsinki and broke the ice big time with his easy humour and musical expertise. Our people loved it and they’re still talking about it”.
Lynn Rutter, HR, Nokia

“Tom Morley is highly skilled in creating a safe, enjoyable space, so that we quickly felt free to take risks”.
Lianne O’Connor, HR, Alliance and Leicester

Let me introduce you to the charismatic ‘Stand-Up Drummer’ Tom Morley, a true ‘rockstar activator,’ renowned for activating the inner rockstars in organisations worldwide, from LUSH to Vodafone to MTV. On the 18th of November, Tom is rocking up to our community event with a van load of drums, pledging his support to the vision of Newham Mosaic.

What entices this ‘big-ticket-team-builder’ to join forces with our obscure community project? It’s certainly not the financial gains, for our offering is modest. Tom welcomes this opportunity to return to his working class roots, seeing the potential of an empowered community, working together as efficiently as corporate giants. This mission aligns with his lifelong dedication to get ‘the real people’ organised. I first encountered Tom over 13 years ago at Little Ilford Youth Centre during a peace concert, and our paths crossed again at Hyde Park, where he led a drumming workshop in support of a flag-flying noble cause.

Let me share the vision I presented to Tom. Newham boasts a rich cultural diversity, but its people face economic challenges, and community groups are underfunded and overburdened. Newham Mosaic aims to bring these small groups together, fostering collaboration akin to corporate departments to maximise real value for our community. Tom instantly grasped this concept and the opportunity to harness our diversity for tangible community wealth. He’s enthusiastically on board, and should the 18th November event prove successful, he’s committed for the long haul.

Are you ready to join us? We can accommodate around 30 drummers in our hall, with priority given to Newham Mosaic Community and local community groups. This event is not just about networking; it’s a team-building exercise, a wellspring of motivation, and, above all, a celebration of our collective efforts. Tom will energise us, igniting our passions and driving us toward success. That’s what it says on his website anyway!

Save the details: Saturday, 18th November, from 2 pm to 5 pm at Memorial Community Church395 Barking RoadE13 8AL. It’s an experience you’ll enjoy for sure.
